I bet I caught you all by surprise with the recent design change here on Ani-Gamers. Well, that's not the only thing that has changed. I have been working day and night for days to bring every single review, article, editorial, and convention report over to the Ani-Gamers blog, so that everything can finally be consolidated and archived.
The final stages of this version 2.1 update will represent an important change for Ani-Gamers, as we move to a more organized, focused approach to our coverage of anime, manga, and video games. In this new version, we will have only a single RSS feed for all of our updates (news, reviews, articles, etc.), and there will be an official Ani-Gamers Twitter to handle small updates and notices. I will soon give all of the staff access to this Twitter account, so that you can hear from all of us through this new interface.
Finally, I must stress that we are not completely finished with the version 2.1 update yet. Work is progressing, but not every review or article has been moved over to the blog yet, and certain areas of the site may not reflect the layout change at this time. Most importantly, though, reviews still remain on their original pages as well as on their new blog pages (i.e. double copies), a problem which I will soon remedy.
I am leaving on vacation today, but luckily I will still have internet with which to make the required updates. Nevertheless, understand that I am still in the process of migrating things like uWrite submissions, columns, and a couple old articles. I hope everyone enjoys the new setup here at Ani-Gamers. Version 2.1, here we come!
How can you help then? Well, if you scroll down just a tad, you will find a new poll I have placed on the sidebar, asking all of our readers how they would prefer us to restructure. Let us know what you think, and we will take it heavily into consideration when restructuring. If you choose the final option, be sure to let us know through email or in the comments of this post.
Finally, in case you're wondering how the new site would work, feel free to check out anigamers-test.blogspot.com, where I will be experimenting with the new blog format and sidebar. Also, I have set up a Twitter feed at twitter.com/AniGamers where you can see the way news would work if turned into a Twitter feed.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to have the restructuring done in just a few weeks.
